Volvo Penta’s D13 in-line 6 diesel is developed from the latest design in modern diesel technology. The engine has a robust block with ladder frame, high pressure unit injector system, 4 valves per cylinder, “twin entry” waste gate turbo and after cooler. All together with the electronic engine management system results in a very smooth running engine with world-class diesel performance, combined with low fuel consumption and emissions.
A Perfectly Matched System – Our D13 IMO Tier III engine is perfectly matched to our SCR-based aftertreatment system. The engine is based on Volvo Penta’s existing D13 engine, which means that the engine footprint is the same and there are common interfaces. This makes it easy for our existing customers to install. Our D13 IMO III engine is also designed to cope with high exhaust back pressure and is equipped to withstand the toughest of marine conditions.
