D16-MH IMO III

The D16-MH is an in-line 6-cylinder, 16.1 liter diesel engine specially designed and developed for installations in heavy duty commercial displacement craft. The engine features a robust block with ladder frame, high pressure unit injector system, 4 valves per cylinder, twin parallel turbo­charger with wastegate and charge air cooler.
The heat exchanger is designed for reduced charge-air-cooling temperature, which in combination with the injection system, and the Engine Management System (EMS) further improve performance and drivability, meeting future stringent emission requirements.

The IMO Tier III technology for marine engines is based on the company’s own experience alongside that of the Volvo Group in leading selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology, resulting in a system that is dedicated to heavy-duty marine operations. The system is built to handle high sulfur fuel, and to sustain high back pressure while maintaining engine efficiency and drivability.
